Initially an EMS student at Wilson & Partners, John graduated from the Dick Vet in 2005 and started work in the practice 2 days later. In 2010 he joined the partnership and has been Senior Partner since 2018. Day-to-day he will usually be found in the operating theatre and has special interests in Cardiology and Diagnostic Imaging. Out-with the practice he is very busy building a house extension and enjoys spending time with his 2 children and badly behaved Labrador Ginny.
Amanda graduated from the Dick Vet in 1996 and joined the Practice as a new graduate, living in the flat above the surgery and working as a mixed vet. In 2007 her family moved to St Andrews and as a new Partner she was responsible for the opening of the St Andrews branch surgery where she continues to work to this day. She enjoys living and working within the community as a small animal general practitioner and her days are mostly spent consulting along with routine day surgeries and dental procedures. In her spare time Amanda loves to run with her dog, yoga and socialising with friends and family.
Sarah graduated from Edinburgh in 2012 after starting as a kennel girl at the age of 14. She joined the Partnership in 2023 and works hard to encourage staff development within the practice as well as being a clinician who enjoys the variety of everyday. In her free time Sarah enjoys CrossFit, exploring and building sandcastles on the beach with her wild Labrador and slightly less wild daughter!
Andrew joined Wilson and Partners in July 1972, a few days after graduating from the Dick Vet. He served many years as a Partner in the business before “retiring” from the partnership to enjoy the work as a clinician. 52 years on, he still loves consulting and meeting clients and their pets, working at the St Andrews branch surgery on a Friday and some Saturdays. Andrew also offers the invaluable service of end-of-life homecare visits. In his spare time Andrew enjoys photography, gardening, golf, travel and visiting his grandchildren.
Colin graduated from Glasgow Vet School in 2003 and joined the team soon after. He grew up in North East Fife and saw practice as a school boy from the age of 14. Colin enjoys being a GP vet and has a particular interest in dentistry and ophthalmology. In his spare time Colin enjoys the great outdoors with his family and two dogs.
Originally from Edinburgh, Karen qualified from Glasgow Vet School in 2000. She joined Wilson and Partners in 2004 and really enjoyed the farm animal work before the Practice specialised in companion animal care a few years later. Karen continues to enjoy all aspects of first opinion practice, particularly meeting clients and their pets and has a special interest in feline medicine. Outside of work Karen loves horse riding, cycling and skiing. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and sons and taking their working cocker on hill and beach walks.
Jen graduated from Glasgow University in 2012 and worked in mixed practice for 3 years before moving into small animal practice. She has a keen interest in all aspects of surgery and has recently added BOAS surgery to her repertoire. When not at work, Jen will usually be found helping her husband on the family farm or chasing after her 2 children or 2 dogs.
Adele is a passionate and dedicated veterinarian who graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2014, although her interest in veterinary medicine and animals began long before that. She spent a year working with manatees and bats in Belize before studying zoology. Adele started working as an assistant nurse at Wilson and Partners from 2007 while studying for veterinary medicine and then joined the practice as a vet in 2018 . Since then Adele has been an essential part of the team, enjoying consulting and patient and client care . When she is not busy caring for her furry patients, Adele loves spending time outdoors with her family, walking her dog Dug and tending to her garden.
After coming to Wilson and partners for work experience from the age of 16, Rachel went onto the Royal Dick School of Veterinary studies to graduate in 2021 with an intercalation in Pharmacology. She enjoys all areas of general practice and has a particular interest in surgery and caring for our geriatric friends. Outside of work Rachel enjoys paddle boarding, running and travelling as much as possible.
Chloe graduated from the university of Edinburgh in 2016 and after spending 4 years in mixed practice decided to join our team at Wilson’s. She has a keen interest in feline medicine and enjoys all aspects of small animal practice especially speaking to clients. In her spare time she enjoys travelling, hill walking, growing things in the garden and going on adventures with her family.
Ashleigh Originally from South Africa, Ashleigh graduated from Edinburgh in 2017. She joined the Practice as a new graduate and enjoys all aspects of first opinion small animal care. Outside of work Ashleigh loves to travel and explore new places with her family and her two enthusiastic young girls.
Lisa graduated from FU Berlin in 2015. After working in small animal practice in the West Coast of Scotland, she decided to travel the UK and Europe in a campervan for a year with her husband and dog Freddie. After returning to Scotland, she joined our team at Wilson’s. Lisa enjoys being in the operating theatre and is currently studying towards a postgraduate certificate in small animal surgery. Outside of work she is kept busy with family life, enjoys travelling, hillwalking and spending time in the garden.
June joined the practice in 1990 and became Head Nurse 6 years later after qualifying as an RVN. After all these years, she is still as enthusiastic as ever about nursing and enjoys the challenge and variety of what each day brings. June has many areas of interest, but is especially interested in looking after our diabetic patients, pain management in geriatric patients, wound management, behaviour, and emergency care. In her spare time she enjoys outdoor activities, hill walking with her wee dog, running, cycling, swimming, horse riding with her daughters, and camping weekends away on her motorbike.
Susan has worked at the Practice for many years and enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing, particularly radiography, emergency surgery and patient care. She has a special interest in cat behaviour and welfare and has gained advanced certificates in both Feline behaviour and Emergency and Critical Care nursing. Susan is also one of our Clinical Supervisors and is responsible for nurse training and mentoring our student nurses, a role which she finds very rewarding. When not at work or caring for her young daughter, she enjoys listening to music and going to gigs.
Amy has worked at Wilson’s for 8 years and qualified as a nurse in 2021. She particularly enjoys the busy day to day life in the Practice and you’ll usually find her cuddling an inpatient! Outside of work, Amy is a busy mum, running around after her young son or going for long walks.
Laura has been working in the practice as a nurse for 17 years and enjoys all aspects of nursing as well as dealing with a lot of the pet insurance claims. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the gym, walking on the hills with her 2 pointers and spending time with family.
Hollie began working for the Practice in 2017 as a receptionist/Veterinary Care Assistant. She has recently passed her final veterinary nursing exam at the end of 2023 whilst on maternity leave, juggling studying with looking after a new baby , and will soon become a Registered Veterinary Nurse. In her spare time, Hollie enjoys going to the gym, holidays and socialising with family and friends.
Mel joined the Wilson’s team as an animal care assistant in 2019 then after qualifying as a Veterinary Care Assistant she enrolled as a student veterinary nurse and is now in her second year. You will usually find her singing through the corridors of our practices where she thrives on the busy days. Melissa has special interests in emergency critical care, recovering and rehabilitation of patients and one to one care, as well as enjoying meeting clients. At home, she has 2 Labradors who enjoy long walks and summer swims.
Kristie worked in the veterinary industry for 2 years before joining the team in 2022 and is now studying towards becoming a Registered Veterinary Nurse. She enjoys all aspects of working in the practice, especially getting to meet all the lovely patients and clients. Outside of work, Kristie is mainly found helping her boyfriend on the family farm, surrounded by sheep, alongside their 5 year old border terrier who considers herself a sheep dog!
Cailin started at Wilsons in 2019 as a kennel assistant, then quickly gained her Veterinary Care Assistant qualification before being accepted to train as a Registered Veterinary nurse in 2024. She has a special interest in exotics and enjoys the everyday hustle and bustle of general practice. In her spare time, Cailin enjoys cuddling up on the sofa with her cats and a book and spending time with her reptile pets.
Lorna joined the practice in 1995, initially at Cupar and then St.Andrews, after a career in teaching and the civil service. In her spare time she enjoys outdoor swimming, yoga, horse riding and walking her spaniel, but can often be found helping her husband on the farm with the sheep.
Jane Joined the Practice in 1999 and can be found in the reception of both St Andrews and Cupar. Her bright and bubbly personality makes her a popular member of the team and great with clients. As Jane has been with Wilson’s for over 25 years, we are guessing she loves her job! In her spare time, Jane enjoys socialising with friends and family over dinner or a coffee. She also likes yoga and walking with friends, especially if there is coffee and a cake at the end of it!
Catherine joined the Wilson team in 2007 as a receptionist at Cupar. She loves animals, so this is her ideal job. She enjoys the hustle and bustle of a busy day, meeting your pets, chatting to clients, clerical duties, answering calls and is a great problem solver. She will always welcome you with a smile (unless the practice has run out of biscuits!). In her spare time, Catherine loves long walks with her dog, photography, cuddling her cats and looking after two busy teenagers!
Carol was born in St Andrews and has lived in the area all her life, starting at our St Andrews Practice in 2014 as a Saturday Receptionist. Carol now works in the reception team of both Cupar and St Andrews and enjoys all aspects of client care. Out with work, she spends time with her dogs and is involved with the running of several Dog Breed Clubs in the UK. Carol is Editor of two Club Year Books and would love to find the time to read a book herself!
Leanne joined Wilson and Partners in 2016, working as a Saturday Receptionist in our Leven Practice. She enjoys meeting owners with their pets and seeing their progress. Leanne has always been an animal lover, looking after the cats on her street as a girl, and now has 4 cats of her own and a German shepherd dog. In her spare time, Leanne loves to go to concerts, keeping fit with circuit training and running and walking her dog.
Natasha has a lot of experience as a veterinary receptionist, working at a neighbouring practice for 11 years before joining the Leven reception team in 2019. Natasha really enjoys interacting with clients and their pets and is a huge pet-lover herself, having 4 cats and a cockapoo at home.
Fiona joined the reception team in 2021 and brings a wealth of knowledge to her clerical role, always carrying a notepad with her! She is always happy to help and loves meeting people and being part of the Wilson “family”. When she is not at work, Fiona enjoys socialising with her family and friends and has recently become a granny to the cutest puppy called Buddy. Fiona also enjoys reading, especially outdoors in the sunshine.
Seonaid started with Wilson’s in 2023 as one of the reception team at Cupar. Having worked in customer care in other areas, she counts herself lucky being able to combine her love of animals with providing all aspects of customer care in our fantastic team. Outside of work, Seonaid enjoys playing at cowgirls with her horse Bonnie, or at home watching a good box set with her husband and elderly cat.
